Keep in mind, a cellular plan in Ukraine is usually no more than $6 a month. That, my friends, is how poor these people are.
Instead of asking for a phone number, get her contact on either WhatsApp, Viber, or Instagram.
If you choose to ask for a WhatsApp or Viber contact, she will still give you a phone number, but you will use a special app to text her through. It sounds complicated, but it is just a way of sending free text messages over WiFi.
Instagram Game in Ukraine

Remember to use simple, easy to understand English, almost as if you’re talking to a child. This may be hard first. Keep in mind that you generally have to tone down your vocabulary a little bit when dealing with non-native English speakers.
If, on the other hand, you have an Instagram account with a following, and photos that show you engaging in attractive hobbies such as traveling, working out, and other things that make you who you are, I suggest going for her Instagram account.

Many parents can attest to the fact that traveling has a way of changing their sons for the better. Many young men who travel to Eastern Europe are finally incentivized to do well in life for the very first time.
Western men are told that if we just work hard, good things will happen. When living in the United States, that’s just not always the case anymore.
In Ukraine, there is a clear framework for an expat male to live in a nice home, have a beautiful girlfriend, and make money online. He’s living what was once known as the “American dream.”
Hilariously, let’s compare lifestyle to one in the United States.
Working hard in the West will often land you a stagnant corporate job, an overweight wife who complains, and a life that is dull and unfulfilling.
I digress.
As a man, you will find that it is your responsibility to take the lead in the many situations that life throws at you. This includes your time spent with women. This is the cold, unpleasant reality of the world we live in.
Get used to it. It’s not changing any time soon.
How To Lead a Ukrainian Girl
Being a leader means choosing the restaurants you and the girl(s) you are dating will eat at. It can mean planning how you will your spend your time together, and it definitely means always having an aura of being decisive and “in control.”
I’ve gone as far as telling girls what to major in at university, which jobs to take, and what to wear when they’re around me.
In reality, I did them all a huge favor by weighing in on their choices by offering an educated, Westernized perspective on their lives.
They know it, and I sure as hell know it too.
The last thing you want to do when dating a Ukrainian girl is to say things like: “I’m not sure,” or “It’s up to you.”
This does not mean that you should not entertain her requests or suggestions. It does, however, mean that as the man in a relationship, you have the final say.
That being said, learning to be a leader is a long process. It just doesn’t come naturally to most people.
The best piece of advice I can give you if you want to increase your decisiveness and ability to lead is to start hitting the gym.
Nothing turns a boy into a man like good, old fashioned hard work.

While it may seem like I am advocating for you to be a drill sergeant, you must also keep in mind that Ukrainian dating culture is somewhat relaxed. Believe it or not, plans are made with a huge amount of spontaneity.
Strategy #2: Spontaneity
Perhaps one of the most peculiar aspects of Ukrainian dating culture is the spontaneity of it all.
For as poor of a country as Ukraine, girls are often tied up with more obligations than I’ve seen in any other country.
On a given day, a local girl will have to attend university, work a few hours at a crappy job, and fulfill family obligations such as watching younger relatives or cooking. Hopefully, she still gets to have a social life.
Oh, and then she has to make time for you.
It’s not uncommon for a Ukrainian girl that you’re chatting with to hit you up in the middle of the day and ask if you’re free to go for a walk or have a coffee.
Ukrainian dating culture is extremely spontaneous. You very well may encounter women who are somewhat reluctant to make plans, and instead, have somewhat of a “go with the flow” type of attitude.
This is all the more reason that you have to be proactive in setting up dates, but also reflects the fact that you should be open to somewhat random meetups throughout the day.
In essence: Ukraine is a rather straightforward country. If she agrees to see you, she’s interested. Be flexible, but be confident.
You have likely presented yourself as an interesting, attractive foreigner who shows the potential of being someone great.
Showing potential, as you are sure to see, is a huge aspect of Ukrainian dating culture.
Strategy #2: Show Potential
There is a common misconception that Ukrainian girls, and all Eastern European girls in general, are “golddiggers.”
Disgruntled men will say that they are only after your money. They whine that it’s impossible for a Ukrainian woman to love a foreigner, and other ridiculous ideas that only jealous failed men would resort to.
There are indeed plenty of scams that exist in regards to Ukrainian women (don’t even get me started on some of these bride agencies).
But, you have to remember that money is simply a part of life no matter where you live.
Here’s a crazy idea that most guys can’t seem to understand: girls like guys who have their lives together.
Being flat broke and unable to pay for a coffee date means that you are extremely incompetent in some way.
Family-oriented, traditional women do not like this type of behavior.
On the flip side, having a healthy financial life is a sign that you’re a realistic, well-adjusted man.
Ukrainian Women Are Relationship-Minded
Ukrainian girls are relationship-minded. Even at the earliest phases of dating, she’s likely sizing you up to see if you would be a quality long term partner.
Whether you like it or not, if you have some extra income to play with, it means you can have more meaningful experiences with the ones you care about.
It also means you can be a better, stronger provider should times get tough if you two stay together long enough.
Remember: if you want a feminine woman, you must be a masculine man. Making money is masculine.
Drinks at a fancy cocktail bar? A side trip to Georgia for the weekend? A quick coffee date?
These all are going to require you to have some level of income.
Fortunately, being “rich” and living like a baller in Ukraine is ridiculously easy. Ukraine is one of the cheapest countries in the world. Even having a small internet salary is enough to put you in the top 20% of earners in the country.

One of the main reasons that Ukrainian girls date foreigners is that foreign men have the ability to show them new experiences.
New experiences lead to quality time spent together. Quality time means shared experience and memories. Shared experience and memories turn into love and appreciation.
That, my friends, is the formula for a successful relationship.
Dating a foreign guy can mean she’s regularly going to be doing simple things that most Westerners take for granted.
Whether it’s trying out new restaurants, having an apartment that you don’t share with your parents, or the occasional gift, foreign men have a serious leg up on the locals.
Let’s compare that with the experience of dating a local guy.
Dating a Local vs. A Foreigner
If a Ukrainian girl chooses to date a local man, her life is going to be completely different.
That same girl will likely be expected to cook every single meal and hardly ever go out anywhere.
Her boyfriend will make $400 a month working in a local shop, and that’s a “good” salary. She will hardly ever have any alone time with him as they both likely still live with their parents. Gifts will be simple, genuine acts such as a single rose from time to time.

I recently passed the two year anniversary of dating my Ukrainian girlfriend. In that time, I’ve learned more about women, life and what it means to be a man than ever before, and I can attribute many of these lessons to my time spent with her. While much of what I thought going in remained true, I certainly gained a new perspective on dating as a whole. Without further adieu, here are 7 lessons I learned from dating a Ukrainian girl.
Lesson #1: American women are absolutely terrible.
When dating women in America, I always knew something wasn’t quite right.
I naturally always felt very uneasy when I would hear about a girl who had slept with 30 different men.
It has always seemed pretty was unfair that a man would have to make dinner for his family after working for 13 hours, while his wife enjoyed a much easier workday if she had a job at all.
It wasn’t until I started dating a Ukrainian girl that I realized how these things are definitely not normal to regular people with traditional values.
The Western world has become a freak show of epic proportions in the past 50 years, and it has been the women who have been most harmed by these social changes.
As such, when I compare my current girlfriend to the girls I’ve dated in the United States, there’s no comparison.
American women believe that they’re entitled to the world, when in reality, they’re at the bottom of the barrel on almost every level.
Did you know that…
Most American women are overweight. The typical American woman now weighs 170 pounds (77kg)!
The average American women sleeps with 15+ men in her life.
…and don’t expect even one of these women to know how to make you a nice, home cooked meal.
Don’t believe me? That’s fine. These are all proven statistics. The truth hurts.
Almost none of these problems exist when dating a Ukrainian girl.
If I’m hungry, she cooks. If she comes over and my apartment is a mess, she starts cleaning it. I don’t even have to ask!
When we first started dating, I (stupidly) told her she doesn’t have to do these things. Looking back, I was a real fool.
Guess what happened? She actually argued with me about it!
I pressed her for an answer.
What makes her want to do my laundry and cook me meals?
“Well…I just want you to feel comfortable and happy.”
My jaw nearly dropped.
Can you imagine an American girl saying this?
“Comfortable and happy…”
I’ll never forget this.
I shouldn’t have been so surprised. Most women used to think like this before feminism became popular in the 1960s. The “1950’s housewife” was never an oppressed woman forced into do things she hates. Actually she was a mentally healthy individual, acting out on her feminine instincts to make her husband and children, well…comfortable and happy.
Nothing beats that. Not one thing in the world.
Worst of all, American women just can’t seem to just accept one simple fact: men and women are different.
Lesson #2: You will learn that gender roles exist for a reason when dating a Ukrainian girl.
At first, I was sure that I was going crazy. What kind of weird world had I stepped into?
Having a woman take care of domestic responsibilities at home was something I had never dreamed of being possible, and yet here it was.
Guess what happened?
I am now able to work harder because the basic things in my life are taken care of.
Think about how much time you have to spend doing little things at home like cooking food, buying groceries, cleaning up messes, etc.
I don’t know about you, but I like to work.
Sometimes I work for up to 12 hours at a time without once stopping to eat. It’s a bad habit I have, but it’s who I am. I’ve done it my whole life.
In fact, this whole situation brings up a memory from yours truly’s childhood.
American Women Won’t Even Cook For Their Children
As a child, I would frequently go hungry at lunch time.
Like most American public schools, my school served absolutely awful food for lunch. The students knew it, the teachers knew it, and the parents knew it. It still amazes me that kids are expected to not only function, but thrive off of eating this slop.
Anyways…
The school food was so bad, that most of the time we just wouldn’t eat. If we did, we’d have a sugary snack from a vending machine followed by an iced tea bought from the cafeteria.
As I got older, I started to wise up a little bit. One of my best friends who I would always eat sugary snacks for lunch with was actually diagnosed with Type I Diabetes.
We were 12 years old, and my closest friend was now required to inject himself with insulin, multiple times a day, for the rest of his life. Naturally, I was curious how this happened.
As it turns out, eating Twinkies for lunch every single day in early childhood has some pretty serious consequences on your health.
So what did I do?
I asked my Dad why my Mom doesn’t pack lunches for my siblings and I to eat at school.
His response was hilariously typical for an American parent.
“Because that’s your job. If you want to eat a good lunch, pack it yourself.”
Guess what happened?
I hardly ever ate real lunches, and I kept eating continued eating machine crap for most of my young adult life.
My grades were horrible, I could never focus, and I weighed 135 pounds at 6 feet tall when I graduated high school.
Thanks Mom and Dad, you sure showed me.
Now, when I’m on a 12 hour work stint, I send my girlfriend a text and I tell her I need her to cook up some dinner. I promise her that afterwards, we can watch a movie, and if it’s especially good, we can go for a walk the next morning.
She eagerly rushes over to my house to cook me a selection of any one of my favorite meals. Sometimes, I just send her a recipe that looks nice and she figures it out.
This isn’t a privilege, and no, I’m not “lucky.”
Eating healthy food is necessary to sustain human life.
If you’re a hard working man who treats his woman well, you deserve to have a good meal to be cooked for you.
Statistically speaking, women don’t work as hard as men in the modern work environment. Men are far more likely to put in overtime, volunteer to take on extra tasks, or even start their own businesses.
I am not saying women never do these things, but the fact of the matter is that on a grand scale, women do far less work than men.
If you really wanna talk about “fairness,” does this not mean that your wife should be in charge of taking care of things at home while you slave away on your business?
It is the fault of spoiled, entitled, lazy American, British, German or other Western women who refuse to do something as insignificant as pack their child a lunch or cook their husband a meal who have ruined this age-old tradition, among countless others.
Gender roles exist for a reason.
They are sacred and directly tied to the biological differences between men and women.
As my own grandmother used to say, “There’s not a man in the world who doesn’t like it when his woman bakes him a cake.”
If only her wisdom lived on to her daughters.
It is these very differences that bring us to our next lesson: women enjoy being led by a man they perceive as strong.
Lesson #3 From Dating a Ukrainian Girl: Women Enjoy Being Led.
How many times have you made the following mistake…
You’re out with your girlfriend, and you’re trying to pick a place to eat.
Of course, you say to her “So, where do you wanna go?”
Her response, after rolling her eyes: “I don’t know…”
You: “…but like, where do you want to go?”
Her: “I don’t know, just pick somewhere!”
You: “Wow, you are so mean.”
I’ll say this just once: You are a man. Make plans. It is your job to decide!
Even American women hate making decisions like this, though they will never admit it that it is because they can’t escape the biological reality of being female.
When I first came to Ukraine, I was foolish enough to make this very same mistake. Instead of scolding me like an American girl, my girlfriend was nice enough to let me in on a little secret.
“You know, girls don’t really like picking these things. Even if we don’t like where you choose, it’s still better than us having to pick. Making decisions makes us anxious.”
Truer words were never spoken.
This plays into a larger truth about all women: they enjoy being led.
Sparing you a full explanation, just know that women like the idea of being with a man who is strong, component, and decisive.
Women hate being with a reactive, nervous little soy boy who can’t make up his mind. Hesitating makes you look weak, and makes her nervous about her choice to be with you.
When dating a Ukrainian girl: you must avoid hesitation, and you must lead!
Lead your woman. Choose the restaurants you will go to, the dates you will go on, and the places you will visit.
I don’t care what your girlfriend likes or does not, if you play the game right, her tastes will soon match yours.
Plus, you picking the places you go can help you to save some cash if you’re smart about it.
Lesson #4: Saving Money Is Easier Than I Thought
I, like most expats in Ukraine, rarely ever look at the bill when I eat out at a restaurant.
I don’t buy things on sale at the grocery store, or do any practical money-saving things I did in America. The savings are so minuscule that I can’t be bothered.
My girl, on the other hand, is totally obsessed with this stuff. She clips coupons, only buys clothes on sale, and negotiates at the market.
She has some serious balls for a lady.
Case in point: we were at the market bazaar the other day. It’s basically an open air market where the locals buy groceries. Groceries there are a little bit cheaper, and you can get some seriously nice meats, vegetables, and spices fora fraction of the price you pay at the grocery store.
Anywhoo…
We were looking for an Indian spice for her to make me one of my favorite meals with. It’s a little bit rare in Ukraine, and there’s only one place in town to find it.
I went up to the spice stand to purchase a bag of spices. The price was all of 130 UAH, or roughly $5.
It’s not cheap, but not super expensive either. I was reaching for my wallet when my girlfriend asked how much it costs to the guy behind the counter. When he told her, she was appalled.
“That’s too much. We give you 100,” she said pointedly to him.
The guy looked at her, smiled, and much to my surprise, replied as such:
“Fine…”
I realized that this is how most people in Ukraine get by on such a low salary. They are always on the hunt for the best deal, and are willing to negotiate for a bette price.
Sometimes, for fun now, me and my girlfriend go to the bazaar and barter with the locals for the best prices on groceries. She loves doing it, and it’s a fun way for me to practice my Russian.
Of course, when she’s not looking, I usually slip them an extra 30 UAH ($1), because there’s no way I’m going to deprive a poor Ukrainian spice merchant of the tiny bit of money they make.
Living in Ukraine has also reconfirmed what I already knew to be true from living in the USA…money solves most problems.
Lesson #5: A Girl’s Mother Will Influence Her More Than Anybody
Watch how a girl’s mother treats her father.
No, I am not saying to make note of how your girlfriend’s mother treats you. She’s going to be on her best behavior when you’re around.
Instead, make specific notice to how she treats her husband.
Is she pleasant, accommodating and caring? Or, is she snippy, short tempered and cold?
Guess what? The way that your girlfriend’s mother treats her father is going to directly influence how she treats you in the long term. She could be the world’s sweetest girl to you, but if her mom is disagreeable with her father, you can look forward to this same behavior in your future should you choose to stay with her.
Luckily, I’m aware of this and have even ended previous relationships over it when girls started acting a bit too much like their catty, disrespectful mothers.
My girlfriend’s mother is very, very kind to her father. She practically worships him, frequently rubbing his feet when he gets home from work, cooking him delicious food, and fulfilling all the roles I would like to see my own wife do.
Lucky for me, I can absolutely see how this woman is my girlfriend’s mother.
Do not ignore this, or write this off. Your girlfriend a near exact genetic copy of her mother, and you can bet she’s going to act like it.
Forget this lesson at your own peril, but I can safely say it is one of the most important I’ve picked up from dating a Ukrainian girl.
Lesson #6: The Most Important Takeaway From Dating a Ukrainian Girl: You Must Take the First Step!
In the United States, or even in countries like Serbia, you might get lucky by being in the right place at the right time with a horny girl, and she’ll approach you.
In Ukraine, this pretty much never happens.
You are always going to have to take the first step and initiate with her.
This is a good thing. Reaching out to girls forces you to grow personally, and cultivates a mindset of taking what you want!
While you can certainly fly over to Ukraine and hit the streets, I suggest you sign up for a free account at Ukraine Date before making such a big commitment.
